ANNOUNCEMENTS

I've received word that LeRoy Nesmoe has passed. He lived in the same neighborhood as my mom. LeRoy was in failing health these past few years and was recently taken to a care facility in St. James, where he passed at 1:00 am on Sunday, April 13. I'm told that there will be no services.

LeRoy lived a quiet life on Stade Lane in Fairmont. I don't think he was ever married or had any children. He was usually seen walking his dog, Oscar, around the neighborhood in the mornings. LeRoy loved to chat with his neighbors. When I helped my mom with a rummage sale about 10 years ago, LeRoy stopped by and spent a couple of hours with us. I enjoyed our talk. Oscar is now in the care of LeRoy's brother, I believe, and I'm told he fits in well with his family. Oscar is old too and it's nice to know that he's in the hands of people who are familiar to him and care about him.

I'm trying to get more details to pass along to all of you. If anyone is in contact with LeRoy's brother and is able to get any information to share with us, please let me know.

Rest in peace, LeRoy.

Our sympathies to Bruce Meyer in the passing of his mother, Ardyce. May your happy memories help you through this difficult time.

PLANNING STILL IN THE WORKS

The t-shirt idea was met with a favorable response. T-shirt orders will be taken in May. More info on this will come early May.

We have been able to find some of our teachers, including elementary. If there is a specific teacher you would like us to invite, please let Melanie know. Extra points if you have their contact information!

Other events and activities during the reunion weekend will be on your own. The planning committee is coming up with ideas such as golfing, boat rides, historical museum tour, breakfasts, lunches, a Friday night informal gathering, and more. As ideas are firmed up, they will be sent out to everyone. A list of local eating establishments will be provided later as well.

With two class reunions the same weekend, Fairmont's going to be hopping! We're very much looking forward to seeing everybody!

We are excited to share the 50th anniversary Class of 1975 yearbook survey with everyone!

This will be a wonderful keepsake which is free for everyone (thanks to some generous donations)! The yearbook will be given out at the reunion. If you're unable to attend, we will be able to get your yearbook to you for a small fee -- just postage. We hope to see everyone at the reunion, though!

The survey is very easy to complete and really simple to do on your cell phone. To help you think about your answers prior to filling it out, here are some of the questions:

  • Please share any education, certification, achievements, work, or volunteer work since high school (highlights are all that's needed as space is limited).
  • What is a favorite high school memory? Was it a class, teacher, extracurricular activity, friends, split shift, or ???
  • What life lesson/s did you learn in high school that you still use today?
  • Do you have a favorite hobby, skill, or travel experience you'd like to share?
  • What is on your bucket list? Other thoughts?

Please share contact information with classmates, such as your cell phone or email, if you wish.

Also, please provide a current picture. This is extremely easy to pull up from your cell phone -- just a click or two. The survey steps you through the process. Please know which picture you plan to use before starting the survey.

Due to some limitations of the survey program, once you start the survey, you need to complete it. If you log out, you will lose answers that you've put in. Also, just a heads up, it's not possible to go back and look at all of what you've typed.

The yearbook will be in black and white, just like our original one.

The committee has done test runs of the survey. After we thought about the questions and had a picture in mind, it took about ten minutes for us to complete -- easy and fun!

We would like to get the surveys back by March 20th. Here is the link to the survey.
